The Belgian Ambassador to Italy visits the Port of Genoa

During the course of his first official visit to Genoa, the Ambassador of Belgium, H.E. Pierre-Emmanuel De Bauw, met with the Port President Paolo Emilio Signorini in the historic landmark building of Palazzo San Giorgio, headquarters of the Port Authority.

The visit provided participants with the opportunity to discuss the challenges which both the Ports of Genoa and Antwerp-Bruges Port face in their capacity as, respectively, southern and northern ends of the Rhine-Alpine Freight Corridor across Europe, with a specific focus on clean energy transition, smart logistics and the central role played by port activities as strategic economic drivers. Ambassador De Bauw and President Signorini pledged their support to forge stronger forms of collaboration between the two leading European port-cities, both proud of their heritage to build for the future.

The Ambassador was accompanied at Palazzo San Giorgio by the Minister Plenipotentiary Nathalie Cassiers, the Head of the Flanders Economic and Trade Mission in Italy Marleentje Verstreken and by the Honorary Consul of Belgium in Genoa, Gregorio Gavarone.
