Relations with EU Institutions

The Port Authority is committed to fostering relations with the European institutions, in close collaboration with the Region of Liguria, the North West Italian System and the Italian government, and to participate in associations  and working groups focusing on  key port and transport policy issues.
The Ports of Genoa are  the Mediterranean last port of call of the Rhine-Alpine Corridor, an increasingly important axis  in the central European transport network. Therefore, it is important to highlight the Port Authority’s participation in the  Forum of the Rhine-Alpine Corridor, in the Economic Interest Group “Rail Freight Corridor Rhone-Alpine” and its upcoming membership  of the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation “Interregional Alliance for the Rhine-Alpine Corridor”.
The Port Authority  has also renewed its membership of ESPO (European Sea Ports Organisation), which represents and promotes , within the European institutions, the common interests of the EU member state ports.
