Port Energy and Environment Management Plan

The Port Authority monitors the carbon footprint of the Ports of Genoa, Savona and Vado Ligure across a set of strategic guidelines contained in the Port Energy and Environment Management Plan, in compliance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Transport outlined in Decree n. 408 of 17 December 2018 and as a legal obligation under Legislative Decree 169/2016 of the Ministry of the Environment.

The Port Energy and Environment Management Plan is flexible and can respond in real-time to current energy and environmental requirements. It presents a package of measures designed to improve the provision of energy sustainability, reduce carbon emissions and ensure that the projects implemented are completed within the timeframe specified.

Environmental policy is a domain which cuts across all levels of planning, engaging central and local government, scientists, businesses and others in multiple and overlapping ways.

The first Plan was adopted by the Port Authority on 9 January 2020, Decree n.7.
