Genoa at the China International Import Exhibition in Shanghai

The Ports of Genoa invited to attend China’s first major national expo dedicated to imports in Shanghai, until 10 November 2018. Mayor Marco Bucci and the Port Authority President, Paolo Emilio Signorini, showcase Genoa’s chief assets: port and logistics, tourism and hi-tech.

The first edition of the China International Import Exhibition, the major event hosted in China’s global financial hub by the Ministry of Commerce and Shanghai’s Municipal Government, under the auspices of the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, provided the dramatic backdrop to a top-level meeting between Bucci, Signorini and Giuseppe Zampini – CEO of Ansaldo Energia – and senior management of Shanghai Electric. Chen Ganjin, Vice President, and Yuan Jinhua, Vice President of the Shanghai Electric Power Generation Group, which holds a 40% stake in Ansaldo and has undersigned important cooperation agreements with Ansaldo Energia for the supply of gas turbine engines, were keen to learn more of the Ligurian capital’s chief assets: port and logistics, tourism and hi-tech, industries which are of strategic value to Genoa’s future local economic growth.

The Mayor of Genoa and President of the Port Authority of the Western Ligurian Sea also met with top management of the China Communications Construction Company, international leader in global civil engineering and construction projects such as highways, railways, tunnels and bridges, and responsible for seven of the world’s ten most notable bridge projects.
