Fincantieri is one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups and number one by diversification and innovation. It is leader in cruise ship design and construction and a reference player in all high-tech shipbuilding industry’s sectors, from naval to offshore vessels, from high-complexity special vessels and ferries to mega-yachts, ship repairs and conversions, systems and components production and aftersales services. Headquartered in Trieste (Italy), the Group has built more than 7,000 vessels in over 230 years of maritime history. With almost 21,000 employees, of whom approximately 7,700 in Italy, 21 shipyards in 4 continents, today Fincantieri is the leading Western shipbuilder. The Fincantieri based shipyard in Genoa- Sestri Ponente is dedicated for years to the construction of cruise liners. After having built a number of units for important shipowners as Costa Crociere and Oceania Cruises, the shipyard is currently completing the construction of the ultra-luxury cruise ship “Seven Seas Explorer”, the first built for the shipowner Regent Seven Seas Cruises, which will be delivered in the summer 2016 and of “Silver Muse”, another ultra-luxury unit for the shipowner Silver Sea Cruises (delivery in 2017).

In recent times, within the Port of Genoa, Fincantieri avails a graving drydock, the drydock 3, dedicated to ship repair and conversion. The drydock, 200 meters long, 30 meters wide, with 9 meters depth over the keel blocks, is supported by all the required shore facilities which ensure also logistic working operations, including two dock cranes with 10 and 20-tons lifting capacity, respectively. At the drydock 3 in Genoa, like in the other facilities of the Ship Repair and Conversion division, Fincantieri is able to provide a full range of services through a selected network of subcontractors, dedicated to naval vessels, mega-yachts, passenger and merchant ships.
