Costa Crociere invests in the Port of Savona: renovation of Palacrociere and two new passenger boarding bridges

Plans are afoot to refurbish Savona’s cruise terminal: Costa Crociere has presented the Port Authority of the Western Ligurian Sea its proposal to restructure specific areas of the Palacrociere Terminal West, built in 2003, to cater for the future requirements of the introduction of increasingly larger cruise vessels with higher volumes of passenger traffic by 2019.

The company is firmly committed to consolidating its position at the forefront of safety and security measures, consequently investments will be implemented to upgrade the X-ray luggage scanner and check-in area, and to construct a glass cube over the cityside terrace as an extension of the passenger service lounge. In addition, the two boarding bridges will be replaced with passenger gangways which will be in compliance with the technical specifications of the new ships of the Costa Crociere fleet. The investment programme amounts to approximately 5 million euros.
