Two days of meetings and on-site visits to examine best practices in logistics areas and free zones at the Catalan port.
A two-day fact-finding mission, promoted by Genoa and Savona-Vado’s port cluster, kicked off today in Barcelona, promoted within the framework of the Simplified Logistics Zone of the Port and Hinterland of Genoa.
The initiative was organised by the Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority, in cooperation with the Port of Barcelona and Escola Europea – Intermodal Transport.
The Italian delegation brings together a broad range of institutional and industry representatives, including officials from the Liguria Region, Municipality of Genoa, Customs Agency, Genoa Chamber of Commerce, Vado Interporto,, Spediporto, and the Port Authority.
The programme encompasses a series of meetings and on-site inspections focusing on the development and governance of Barcelona’s logistics areas, widely recognised as a benchmark across Europe. Discussions are scheduled with key institutional stakeholders, including Customs Authorities, the Municipality of Barcelona and the Generalitat de Catalunya, alongside visits to hinterland logistics hubs and the free zone.
This mission provides an important opportunity for the exchange of know-how, with the objective of strengthening the development of the Ligurian logistics system, whilst fostering closer collaboration between public authorities and industry stakeholders.
