The Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority goes ahead with the tender for the procurement of the Technical-Economic Feasibility Study for the restructuring of the former port headquarters located in Savona in Via dei Calafati 16.
The integrated contract, for a total of 724,098.88 euros, has a timeframe of 130 consecutive days from the effective start date, and combines the request for the elaboration of the study with the appointment of a Safety Coordinator, Operational Director and Construction Site Supervisor. This procedure aims to integrate different project phases and thereby reduce the overall scheduled project completion time for the reconstruction of the building.
"This tender marks an important concrete step towards the restoration of the Port Authority’s strategic real estate property portfolio and, simultaneously, recreates a functional renovated public space, integrated with the surrounding urban fabric, with a positive impact on the entire community. Since my first official visit to Savona as Port President, at the meeting with the local public administrators and port cluster, I committed to the redevelopment of the landmark building and I am pleased to confirm that with today’s publication we have launched our new regeneration programme," declared the President of the Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority, Matteo Paroli.
This project is part of an overall redevelopment plan to review the property management of the Port Authority, with the key objective to upgrade the assets in terms of safety and sustainability, in compliance with recent national and EU legislations. Works have, in the meantime, already commenced in May with the strip out of the building, namely, the demolition and removal of all non-structural elements, including a maximisation of all possible material recycling, following the damage caused by the fire of October 2018. In addition, the static structural analysis, aimed at the identification of the optimal construction solution in terms of costs and benefits, establishing a partial redevelopment of the existing building and the planned reconstruction in steel (scope of the tender), has also already been completed.
The documents can be downloaded from the Port Authority’s official website in “Transparency in Public Administration” and on the following piattaforma telematica. The deadline for the submission of all bids has been set at 10:00 hrs 2 March 2026.
