The Foundation, established in 1999 and chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, is a charitable association with a mission to combat poverty and social inequalities across the Moroccan society. Amongst the core initiatives of the Foundation is the Marhaba Operation, a large-scale programme committed to the provision of travel, administrative and medical assistance to the three million citizens resident overseas, who return to Morocco during the summer period. Within this framework, the Foundation offers support, activated on an annual basis from June to September, in the main European ferry ports, including Genoa.
