Official visit of the delegation of the Kingdom of Morocco at the Ports of Genoa headquarters
The President of the Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority, Matteo Paroli, welcomed at Palazzo San Giorgio the high-ranking Moroccan delegation of senior officials and diplomats, led by Mohammed El Azami, the Royal Cabinet representative and Coordinator of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity.

The Foundation, established in 1999 and chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, is a charitable association with a mission to combat poverty and social inequalities across the Moroccan society. Amongst the core initiatives of the Foundation is the Marhaba Operation, a large-scale programme committed to the provision of travel, administrative and medical assistance to the three million citizens resident overseas, who return to Morocco during the summer period. Within this framework, the Foundation offers support, activated on an annual basis from June to September, in the main European ferry ports, including Genoa.

Mohammed El Azami was accompanied on his official visit to the Port of Genoa by Mohammed Tlemssani, Brigadier General of the Royal Armed Forces, Sidi Mohammed Biedallah, Consul General to Italy and Abdelhadi Benfellah, Assistant to the Consulate.

During the meeting. President Paroli and Mohammed El Azami, Coordinator of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, discussed the activities of the Foundation and the areas of possible collaboration to improve the on-site range of services dedicated to passengers at the Port of Genoa and to consolidate the historic relations between Morocco and the Ports of Genoa. President Paroli received an official invitation to visit Rabat to develop further the cooperation between the Italian port and the Moroccan Foundation.
