The new ARMG cranes arrived at APM terminals Vado Ligure

The first six automated rail-mounted gantry cranes were shipped to APM Terminals Vado Ligure on board the “Zhen Hua 23” vessel.

The first group of automated gantry cranes were delivered to Vado Ligure on 14 April and will be mounted on rail to lift and stack the containers in the terminal yards. The cranes were built by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co. Ltd (ZPMC), a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company and one of the world’s largest manufacturers of port cranes and cargo-handling equipment. APM Terminals and Maersk have become one of ZPMC’s top clients and the Chinese manufacturer has opened its Italian headquarters in Vado. It was a remarkable sight to see the mammoth cranes being unloaded on Saturday afternoon with such precise choreography.
