Breakbulk Europe 2025, to be hosted in Rotterdam from 13 to 15 May, is the largest gathering of the global breakbulk and project cargo community worldwide, bringing together over 600 exhibitors and over 11,000 industry professionals from 126 countries.

The international event is an exciting opportunity for the Ports of Genoa to showcase their strategic importance as a key gateway for breakbulk and project cargo operations. As one of the leading ports in the Mediterranean, the Ports of Genoa bring together state-of-the-art infrastructure, specialised logistics services and terminals offering the best transport solutions for all types of commodities that cannot be loaded in containers, in addition to a wide selection of services that facilitate efficient cargo movement across global maritime trade routes.

Breakbulk represents almost a quarter of the total throughput of the Ports of Genoa, with over 14.5 million tonnes handled yearly, and comprising specific cargo segments which include general cargo (cellulose and timber, fruit and perishable goods), rolling stock (lorries, new motor vehicles, heavy machinery, railway cars) and special cargoes( project cargo, heavy-lift and oversize cargo).
