The Fuorimuro Group

Following the public procurement procedure conducted by the Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority in 2023, FUORIMURO SHUNTING & RAIL, a joint venture comprising Fuorimuro Servizi di Manovra S.r.l., as lead partner, and Fuorimuro Impresa Ferroviaria S.r.l., was awarded the exclusive management of all shunting activities in the Port of Genoa. The current concession runs until 31 December 2028.

The Fuorimuro Group has provided rail services throughout the Port of Genoa since 2010, and is equipped to integrate port shunting operations with rail traction services to inland terminals, connecting the port with the major manufacturing and consumer centres across northwestern Italy. The Group also operates daily railway services to France via Ventimiglia. In 2022, the company handled over 140,000 rail cars.

In 2014, FuoriMuro was nominated “European Freight Operator of the Year” at the prestigious European Rail Congress Awards in London.
