San Giorgio del Porto, part of the Genova Industrie Navali group, is recognized as a European leader and a global benchmark in ship repairs, transformations, and disposal/recycling. Founded in 1928, the shipyard has over ninety years of experience in ship repairs and conversions, employing approximately 180 professionals including naval architects, mechanical engineers, skilled workers, and emergency technicians. This combination of skills has made San Giorgio del Porto one of the most highly regarded shipyards in the Mediterranean, able to offer assistance to any type of ship in any part of the world.

The highly qualified team in San Giorgio del Porto is able to meet the highest customer expectations, ensuring repairs and transformations that comply with the standards established by the competent Classification Bodies. The shipyard, located in the ship repair area of the port of Genoa, covers an area of approximately 40,000 sqm, of which 20,000 are covered, and has 1,200 linear meters of equipped docks and 5 dry docks. Inside the construction site there is a workshop divided into three departments: mechanical, carpentry and tubisteria.

San Giorgio del Porto is the first Italian shipyard to be registered in the register of shipbreakers, with the capacity to manage controlled demolition projects. The company boasts several certificates of excellence: ISO 9001:2008 for organizational system quality, ISO 14001:2004 for environmental management, and ISO 45001:2015 for occupational health and safety. Furthermore, San Giorgio del Porto was the first Italian company to obtain ISO 30000:2009 certification from RINA Services, specific for the management of ship dismantling and recycling operations.
