Project

The project foresees the installation of a 130 k/W HV/MV converter to supply shoreside power simultaneously to ships calling at the port, thereby equipping the vessels with the opportunity to switch off the generators and plug into a shoreside electrical power grid, with a sharp reduction in carbon emissions and greenhouse gases. The added module will complete the provision of onshore power supply already underway at the cruise and ferry passenger port, and will be extended to the cargo terminals across the Sampierdarena basin. The project has been funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan for the promotion of a clean energy transition programme of port activities.
